Hydrogen is estimated to make up more than 90% of all the atoms or three quarters of the mass of the universe. This element is found in the stars, and plays an important part in powering the universe through both the proton-proton reaction and carbon-nitrogen cycle -- stellar hydrogen fusion processes that release massive amounts of energy by combining Hydrogen to form Helium.
Production of hydrogen in the U.S. alone now amounts to about 3 billion cubic feet per year. Hydrogen is prepared by steam on heated carbon, decomposition of certain hydrocarbons with heat, action of sodium or potassium hydroxide on aluminum electrolysis of water, or displacement from acids by certain metals.
Hydrogen is the third most abundant element on the earth's surface, where it is found primarily in water (H²O) and organic compounds. It is generally produced from hydrocarbons or water; and when burned as a fuel, or converted to electricity, it joins with oxygen to again form water.
Consideration is being given to an entire economy based on solar- and nuclear-generated hydrogen. Public acceptance, high capital investment, and the high cost of hydrogen with respect to today's fuels are but a few of the problems facing such an economy. Located in remote regions, power plants would electrolyze seawater; the hydrogen produced would travel to distant cities by pipelines. Pollution-free hydrogen could replace natural gas, gasoline, etc
Hydrogen is produced from sources such as natural gas, coal, gasoline, methanol, or biomass through the application of heat; from bacteria or algae through photosynthesis; or by using electricity or sunlight to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. (See my Lightning theory).
The use of hydrogen as a fuel and energy carrier will require an infrastructure for safe and cost-effective hydrogen transport and storage.
The Hydrogen Fuel cell is a developing technology that will allow great amounts of electrical power to be obtained using a source of hyrogen gas.
Fuel Cells
Hydrogen's potential use in fuel and energy applications includes powering vehicles, running turbines or fuel cells to produce electricity, and generating heat and electricity for buildings. The current focus is on hydrogen's use in fuel cells.
HYDROGEN IS A SAFE ENERGY FUEL:
In my novel, The Originators, ISBN # 0974479322, I spent 2 years writing and researching every day, weaving a plausible thriller-story based on the many benefits and uses of Hydrogen energy. Since this bok was published, new hydrogen energy successes have taken my plausible story to a reality. And as time passes, more science and research are innovating new uses for this most abundant source of energy.
I obtained the F.B.I. reports about the Hindenburg through the Freedom of Information Act. What I found was pertinent to the safety factor about Hydrogen.
The most important fact had to do with Hitler's scientists forging ahead with Hydrogen fuel because they couldn't get enough oil to supply their (WWII) plan. The F.B.I showed that a "Nazi Bund" was operating in New York City, and they were ordered to blow-up the Hindenburg so as to scare the West from considering Hydrogen as an alternative to oil. Because it is so light, hydrogen disperses upwards. Hitler's plan worked, and to this day the world believes the myth that Hydrogen is not safe.
Here's why Hydrogen is safer than gasoline :
Hydrogen is much less flammable than gasoline. Gasoline bursts into flames from 228-501 degrees Celsius (442-933 degrees Fahrenheit), while hydrogen doesn't ignite until 550 degrees Celsius (1,022 degrees Fahrenheit).
If you studied chemistry, you noted the first row of the periodic table showing hydrogen as the first - and therefore lightest - element. How light? Fifteen times lighter than air. Twice as light as helium.
Did you ever give a helium balloon to a small child who let go of it? That balloon really took off, didn't it? Next time you comfort a sad child about the loss of a helium balloon, imagine a balloon twice as buoyant in air, filled with hydrogen. It doesn't linger and burn like gasoline.
If you watch a video of the Hindenburg fire, (see pictures below), you'll notice the giant ship burning hydrogen for only 30 seconds; rescuers then ran to the scene almost immediately.
Here's a startling fact: 62 out of 97 passengers on the Hindenburg survived the disaster on May 6, 1937, many of them relatively unharmed. The ones who died either fell, or were burned by dripping diesel fuel.
Hydrogen is not poisonous when it burns
Firefighters will tell you that the dangerous part of a fire is the fumes, not the flames. All petroleum fuels are asphyxiates - poisonous to humans.
Hydrogen releases no toxic compounds - just water.
When hydrogen burns, it actually cleans the air around it! Any hydrocarbons that aren't completely combusted will get combusted in the presence of burning hydrogen.
Hydrogen won't burn unless it's highly concentrated
Again, let's compare hydrogen gas with gasoline. Hydrogen will ignite only if its concentration in the atmosphere is 4% or greater. Gasoline, on the other hand, can ignite at a concentration of 1%. And as we've seen, since hydrogen is so light, it dissipates quickly, making it much less likely to concentrate in the air.
HOW HYDROGEN SCIENCE IS EXTENDING LIFE:
The concept that chemistry, hydrogen infusions, is not so far-fetched an idea, because medicine as practiced today is still of the hammer and nails approach of the past 100 years. Our tools are better today, but the approach is the same. We wait for something to get bad and then we try and fix it. We get regular check-ups to try and diagnose any problems, and our ability to diagnose is getting better, but we still miss a lot. We work at doing what we can to prevent sickness, but our tools are not as good as we would like - basically, diet and exercise and a few medicines that try to prevent disease.
That is getting ready to change. It is going the same way as chips and storage media. Within 5 years we will see a new generation of scanners that will make today's scanners obsolete. Within 10-12 years we will be doing scans that will allow for much more detail in full three-dimensional color. They will be seeing the early formation of plaque and tumors and have the therapies to deal with them before they become a matter of life and death.
Science is building chips which can diagnose all manner of disease by simply putting a drop of blood on the chip. Today, the chips can only diagnose a few diseases, but within 15-20 years it will be a thousand or more. Chips will be cheap and you will be able to get yourself checked often. Hopefully they will allow them to be hooked into your home computer and notify your health care provider if there is an issue. It will be a hypochondriac's heaven.
New genetic therapies are cropping up on almost a daily basis. Mice have 99% of the human genome, so we experiment on them a lot. There are mice that cannot get fat, no matter how much they eat. Mice that do not lose muscle mass. Couch potatoes of the world, unite! Mice that live 30% longer with the addition of just one hormone, the same hormone that is in our bodies. They are growing new liver cells from adult stem cells. The list goes on and on.
Taking adult stem cells seems to slow or halt the effect on the heart. They don't know why it works, but the point is they are doing it. Ad hoc human clinical trials. What will be the next thing tried? And the largest part of medical expenses occur in the last year of life, we will just be postponing the costs, not getting rid of them.
Coenzyme Q 10, is a component of energy production at the cellular level. Q10 declines as we age, and is lowered by statin drugs. Q10 has a favorable effect on promoting healthy gums, fat oxidation, heart function, neurological conditions, and energy production. (This is one of the ingredients of the hydrogen infusion)
Energy economics This book review: The Twilight of Fuel,The Virtue of Waste, The bottomless, and Why We Will Never Run Out of Energy. (A review of Huber and Mills book)
What most of us think about energy supply is wrong.
Energy supplies are unlimited; it is energetic order that is scarce, and the order in energy that's expensive...
Our main use of energy isn't lighting, locomotion, or cooling; what we use energy for, mainly, is to extract, refine, process, and purify energy itself. And the more efficient we become at refining energy in this way, the more we want to use the final product. Thus, more efficient engines, motors, lights, and cars lead to more energy consumption, not less...
These are the 4 energy summaries found in this book:
1. The cost of energy as we use it has less and less to do with the cost of fuel. Increasingly, it depends instead on the cost of the hardware we use to refine and process the fuel. Thus, we are not witnessing the twilight of fuel.
2. "Waste" is virtuous. We use up most of our energy refining energy itself, and dumping waste energy in the process. The more such wasteful refining we do, the better things get all around. All this waste lets us do more life-affirming things better, more clearly, and more safely.
3.The competitive advantage in manufacturing is now swinging decisively back toward the United States...
4.The raw fuels are not running out. The faster we extract and burn them, the faster we find still more. Whatever it is that we so restlessly seek -- and it isn't in fact "energy" -- we will never run out. Energy supplies are infinite...

This is from the new book by Peter Huber and Mark Mills.
The authors do not quite connect their premises to their conclusions, but it makes for interesting reading. I took away the lesson that our energy consumption will rise indefinitely.
In contrast, my novel, The Originators, about free and abundant hydrogen energy, solves the energy issue, to fuel all of our energy needs, indefinitely, while scarcely consumuming any energy to get this most abundant product.
LIGHTNING: (My thesis for extracting hydrogen from water is done mechanically, not chemically.)
Lightning is needed to separate water into H2 +O2. Then the H2 is released and stored.
Lightning is 5 times hotter than the sun, consisting of 100 million volts of electricity.
Lightning is the catalytic tool that separates the O2 from the H2 as energy. H2 is found everywhere in the Universe, but lightning is scarce, except in places like earth, and it is especially spectacular off the east coast of Florida, and in the regional "Bermuda Triangle."
Lightning is attracted to high towers made of special alloy rods encased in stone boulders, as found in the three 400-foot pyramids of Giza, Egypt. The lightning blasts that hit the rods, drift downward into water Storage machine tanks where it is processed, and stored.
Egyptian sand was used as raw silica, because of its very high melting point when mixed with soda, then a lit fire reduces silica’s melting point. The result is a flawless fiber glass lightning rod that is 5 times stronger than steel, when pulled lengthways.
100 million volt power blast separates the water into H2 and O2 storing the hydrogen energy for use on demand. For example, a small amount of water, say 4 ounces, produces enough energy to power an auto 2,000 miles; a little hydrogen goes a long way.
The angle or slope of Giza pyramids were perfect and were the highest structure for 4,000 years at 481 feet. (The next highest strucure was built exactly at 1,000 feet: The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, which was to be torn down following the Paris Expo of 1893?? It wasn't.
No mummies were ever found in the Giza Pyramids because these three pyramids were used as a launching and landing pad, built precisely on a SW line exactly in line with the constellation Orion. Find out how these pyramids were built with a million solid blocks of stone and how they were assembled using hydrogen energy to do the precise lifting and placement. When the Originators abandoned these pyramids, they put a capstone on each of the three projecting towers, that ran through them.
Note: No writings or loot were ever found in the Giza pyramids, but writings and loot were found in other (crumbling) pyramids, because they were used as Egyptian burial crypts.
The Originators also used hydrogen to extend cell life with biannual infusions that affected a wide array of cellular functions, as it rejuvenated the blood stream circulating thoughout the body.
