POETRY MOMENTS
Each time I compose a work of poetry I learn something about myself and the piece that I'm creating. For instance, there is a significant difference between merely saying something versus saying it well. For me as a writer, this is no small matter because, as any poet knows, when writing poetry or prose, the meaning alone, when devoid of passion, emotion, or moral nuance, will not significantly convey, eloquently enough, the moral imperative, poignancy, or the inspirational implication of what is being said.
The power of poetry can spur us to discover, observe, evaluate, and feel things differently. It
allows us to explore the bigger picture of a particular subject with a shorter scope; similar to looking through binoculars at a point far away but suddenly the image is distinctly closer and vividly expressed.
